Today I went to visit the seals in La Jolla and I learned about the city council approving a coastal development permit to install a year round rope guideline at the Children's pool/Casa Beach. Apparently people harass the seals on a daily basis, and the San Diego Seal Watch provides a daily watch over the seals, and is in constant communication with Sea World, which will "rescue" hurt seals. I was so touched that people would volunteer their time to help watch out for the seals, that I offered to do the same. I left my information with the young lady at the booth above the cove, and I hope to soon be volunteering on the weekends to help the seals! I do not condone harassment, especially of innocent seals, and I am happy to PAY IT FORWARD!
