Every once in a while I will go through google analytics for my blog to see how people are finding me. Sometimes I will use the search queries to answer questions. The way these people found me was most likely by my posts combining the words "buyer pool" and "underwater homes." I have answered this question before but this is always a good refresher again since we are approaching HOT and DRY weather conditions in mid June.
How to Prevent Pool Water Evaporation and Promote Water Conservation in Las Vegas NV:
My favorite answer is by purchasing a solar cover similar to this:

It's that simple. When our temperatures hit over 100 and humidity is absent from the air, as a pool owner for over 10 years now, I have found that a solar cover (or blanket) can prevent water evaporation in your pool.
I prefer to buy the inexpensive ones and the wind can destroy these things pretty quickly if they are not sitting on the pool properly or wrapped up in the roller correctly.
The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) offers generous rebates every 3 years for a new pool cover:
- $50 or 50% off a manual pool cover (whichever is less) with participating retailers
- $200 or 50% off a mechanical pool cover (whichever is less) with participating retailers
Conserving water is not only good for our environment but it will save you $$$ on your water bills this summer! Your swim season will also be extended due to the warmer water temperatures.
Have a fun and safe summer and if you do not yet own a pool home (but would like to in the future) - feel free to search for Las Vegas area pool homes for sale or for rent right here!
