Hi Renee,
Aww how cute...I was I won't get choked up but Roscoe my dog is not doing as well these days and has to go for some more tests ..so I wish anyone well who wants to adopt a pet..great thing for homeless pets. If you would like please post this in Pets are people too group!
Sarah: THANKS!
Neal: You got it! I didn't realize that group exists! I only wish the best for Roscoe! Not too many people realize that these dogs need to be rehomed because they are so needy. They love their humans and I schedule my day around them. They even have a dog sitter if we need to go out of town and it isn't feasible. I found Sal in less than two weeks thinking it would take forever!
Holy Cow Renee! or should I say Holy Hound! There you are again. This is my first day on the Rain and I am just playing around on the site. It seems your pretty active on the site as well (No Pun indented). Do you mind if I pick your brain from time to time about the site. I would like to get as much out of this as possible.
By the way I think your cause is a noble one. There a very few people that look out for our four legged friends. You have a heart of gold, and are living proof that there are good people in the world!
Bob
I rescued a racetrack (Palm Beach Kennel Club) greyhound last yr for my dad. His sister has three and he has been wanting one for a few years. He is 2yrs old, brindle and named Shadow (by my kids) because he follows you like a shadow. My dad treats him like a kid- loves lap time in the yard but truthfully is more of a couch potato. Sleeps with his long legs in the air!
( I post this as my bulldog sleeps by my feet snoring like an old man! )
Renee,
My dad adopted a greyhound a couple of years ago, he now has another child! That dog is sooo spoiled, dad never goes anywhere without "goldie" they were meant for each other! :)
Ours are the toy group: Italian Greyhounds! Vitto Loved to run with a full sized retired racer named Joey who was the sweetest thing and I haven't seen him for a long time at the park so I hope he is well! Bob may recognize Toga here as he had been in the office many times. He was Owen's dog that we babysat for 7 months before Owen decided he was ready to take him back.
Chris Elizabeth: YOU NEVER FAIL TO CRACK ME UP!
Charles: Nice to see you around and thanks for adding our website! If you know anyone who needs to surrender an Italian please think of us! We have several people who would be happy to foster.
Maureen: Italian's have more slender snouts and bodies than Whippets. Baby grays don't have the tapered ears yet. Non mixed Italians come in all colors except brindle and min pin brown/black combos. That's one good way to tell them apart as Whippets and Greys have brindle coloring. One of our Italians is so large that people think he is a Whippet all the time. It's so funny people think they are babies too. They ask how old they are and we tell them 1 1/2 and 2. Then they ask "how long before they become full grown?" LOL!
Maureen: LOL!
Molly: They are extremely amazing pets!
When I was a DJ in 1989, I interviewed a "HOMELESS" person that got a greyhound that had lost it's leg due to cancer and took very good care of this dog. But at the same time he was using it!
Let me explain, Greyhounds always look hungry and this is great for someone who wants to beg for money to feed their dog, and the fact that it only had 3 legs was a bonus.
The reason I said "HOMELESS" is because this person was actually an ex-bank executive and quite working 5 days a week making $400,000 a year to working Friday, Saturday and Sunday making $800,000. What he did is got in to grungy clothes on Thursday and did his yard work to get himself dirty, then would go beg with his dog under the space needle over the weekend, Making him thousands of dollars everyday.
GREAT POST!! Glad to see another animal lover. I dont have any stories on greyhounds only English bulldogs. You can see his sweet face on my blog.
Tinker
Tinker: I love English Bulldogs, their little wrinkles and snorts are adorable and tons of persnality underneath! Will go to your blog and check it out!
