There are just so many questions in regards to mortgages of which consumers and realtors search for places to ask such questions. My problem from searching the internet is that I have seen some really bad, false, or misleading answers to such questions. Sometimes even answered by those that aren't even in the mortgage business. I have seen this happen so many times on sites such as Trulia and or Zillow. These sites allow anyone to answer mortgage related questions. But how great would it be to have one place where such questions are answered only by a handful of mortgage professionals.

hmmm...sounds like places I'll need to go and save as favorites. I do have a lender I love that is part of a large group here in INdy and he thus far is batting 100% on my questions. I always refer my clients to a lender; I never try to answer those questions on my own...lessons learned.

Jeff, I joined your LinkedIn group, great idea. Thanks for the invite. Are you a guest blogger on Agent Genius now?
CINDY.... . well, that's good to here about everything that you just mentioned. In any case, you have one more place now, just in case. thanks
MISSY... . yes, I noticed late last night...thanks... I hope the group can help out some. And yes I am... about 2 months ago and I am also writing for Mortgages Unzipped over on Zillow. thanks and hope all is well.
When I want correct information, I come to Active Rain because I know the professionals here know what they are talking about. No matter what area you are in, there is someone here to give you the information you need.
Good Morning Jeff
Thanks for the post and valuable mortgage information. Have a great day.
I get my mortgage information from my mortgage banker. Always work with a professional.
Thanks for sharing and posting your informative article.
KATHY... . just some caution and not trying to sound like a know-it-all or that I don't make mistakes. Just because it's posted on AR doesn't mean that it's correct. I have come across some mortgage posts that were just incorrect or wrong. I even came across one recently that was 100% wrong and I e-mailed the author. The author stated that she had an idea of the max change and tried to confirm that actual change on HUD's site, but that she was getting error codes and couldn't access the site. So she posted what she had anyhow. My point? Poor excuse... and not everything that we read is always true or accurate, even on here. Yes, this is a great place to get some very good info, but one still needs to be very careful. thanks
PATRICK... . HARRY... . DON... thanks and thanks for stopping by.
Love the Mortgage Myth Busters concept! Images of Dan Akyroyd and Bill Murray with the ghost buster theme song plays in my head Who You Gonna Call........
Best wishes for continued Mortgage Myth Buster Success, Im a fan!
Marilyn,
"When your mortgage sucks and the rates too high, who you gonna call?" "Mortgage Myth Busters". That could be a great jingle.
Anyhow Jeff, Thanks for getting the word out, I am just glad to be part of a great group of mortgage professionals.
Excellent!
Thanks,
Andy Brown
"when your ten day close... never shows. Who ya gonna call" :)
The forum will certainly facilitate getting quick info out there. Great job getting the word out and great job on the linkedin group too Jeff :)
Ditto Gary, I'm glad to be part of the movement!

MARILYN... . thank you very much... I am loving it more and more. And yes, some of us have thought about some sort of jingle.. maybe you can be on our team, that you could be that receptionist.. ;o) Seriously, thanks for the continued support.
GARY... . it has some possibilities.. not sure about the copyright infringements though.. and my pleasure. Glad to have you part of the group.
ANDY... . my pleasure and thanks for the compliment.
GERRY... . I am sure we could come up with a few jingles now... maybe ask Lewis? ;o) And thanks about the LinkedIn group and just getting the word out. We have a great group and we just need to make this more viral... thanks and thanks for the compliments.
I think people such as yourself are great places to go for information!
Jeff - you are obviously "the" FHA guru and your blog is awesome. There has been more talk recently regarding the reduction in FHA allowed seller concessions from 6% to 3%, but I am having trouble finding anything concrete. Check out this gloomy article from CNBC: http://www.cnbc.com/id/39419960
She mentions the reduction as fact, "New seller concessions policies are about to go into effect as well." Have you heard anything more specific recently?
Thanks.
DAMON... . well, thank you very much for those kind words and for your support.
KEVIN... . From what I can see, that CNBC article is misleading. In regards to what she stated, as you mentioned above... "New seller concessions policies are about to go into effect as well."... in my opinion, I hope she as a good source. I have checked around... asked my sources.. talked to other loan officers.. and nothing on this. yes, there is speculation that this might go through. But I have no hard evidence that it will. This was placed in the Federal Register this July with an ending date for comments to be on August 15th. Since that time, there were a total of 3 items on the voting block. Only 2 of the items were voted in later on, but not the change of the seller concessions. I talked about this in these 2 posts.
Get out your permanent markers, HUD seeks public comment on three main issues for FHA loans
Our Declaration of FHA Financing !!! - Issues regarding the 3% seller concession proposal - Can we fight FHA Loans with solutions?? - YES !!!
So I am going to write to this person and ask her where she got her information from. thanks and I will let you know. And thanks for the polite compliments and for the kind words.
Thank you for sharing this information.
You! Sorry to be just a little flip! Thanks for the post!
