Big White Fluffy Ones Seen in Vegas!

Las Vegas Snow

As the snow was rolling in...........Normally you can see the mountains in the background!

Las Vegas Snow

Big White Fluffy Snowflakes makes the pool look so uninviting :)

You will have to excuse my excitement!  It has been snowing for two hours now and please don't watch the video if you live in a snow prone area because it will be B O R I N G!  We only see big fluffy white ones with the potential to accumulate every several years.  FYI, I live on the western foothills and that is Faiss middle school behind us!

Renee

Snow in Las Vegas? I thought it was a Wisconsin thing.

Sincerely

Where are the snowplows? When it snows here, the schools let out, the traffic is gridlock and the snow plows and sand trucks cruising waiting to do their thing.

Great video Renee. We NEVER have snow so i'm not bored with it BUT, I don't want it here either. Go make a fire & stay away from the pool. KM

Tom: Me three! Gary: it was pretty the first hour, now on to hour five, not so pretty :) The mountains are going to be GORGEOUS in the AM! Lenn: People cannot even drive in the rain let alone show here. I don't know that Clark County even owns snow plows, LOLOL! Kristin: Fireplace on, check! I really want to crawl in bed and just sleep the rest of the day!

Calling a friend who lives near Desert Breeze to get a snow report, might go sledding tonight there :)

I understand your excitement. I was born near the Equator, and hence, chose Texas - as far south as I could get from the cold. Whenever we get ice or snow, I'm like a three-year old at a candy store. I dont care what people say. I'm having a day off!

A hot chocolate sounds great right now. Hope you had yours!

Excuse me if I don't get excited. :-) There's a reason a pool is a liability here rather than an asset. We're to get 1-3" tonight followed by ice tomorrow night. If you want to see more white stuff, you can fly here ... but of course, there are no mountains! ... and you can't have our snowplows! Just fix yourself a hot toddy and enjoy the fireplace.

I hope you have a heater for your pool:)

You are so funny!

It does not look like Las Vegas in your video. But it does look like Reno does when it snows here, it doesn't stick!!

So how many inches did you get? Or did the snow melt before it hit the ground?

Loreena: I had warm decaf green tea all day! Elaine: LOL! Way to not share your snowplows! Neal: Nope but I did turn it on mid day when it was apparent the temps wouldn't go above 33 degrees Terrie: An inch before it started melting :( Oh well, in the forecast for next two days:)

As a follow-up ... on last night's late news, they showed a photo of a pool in Las Vegas and noted the snow you were getting. When I saw the pool, I thought ... hey, that looks like Renee's pool! After I wrote my above comment last night I felt bad. It dawned on me that we get equally excited when we have a nice day and actually get to see the SUN ... something you get to see a lot of.

Elaine: It's all good! I miss the snowy days of the midwest - but not that much :)

Elaine: where we live we are supposed to get another 10". I might have to go out and steal your snow equipment :)

I do remember sitting in a hot tub one time in College Station, Texas, when they got hit by a rare snowstorm. It was quite interesting but really cold when one got out. And since it was slippery, one couldn't just run back to the house.
